Role
The SAS Commercial Team ensures that claims data is leveraged to maximum commercial advantage with providers. This is achieved through being fully conversant with customer needs and providing insightful analysis, identifying issues and opportunities for business change through the analysis of historical trends. SAS programming is used to extract/manipulate/filter the data, Microsoft tools (Excel, Access and Word) are used to report the findings.
The Person
• A graduate of a numerate discipline or equivalent
• Proven SAS modelling & SAS analysis experience
• MS Excel & Access report writing skills
An interest in commercial insight analysis
Desirable Skills
-Any exposure within the Healthcare or Commercial Insight Analysis areas would be desirable but not essential

So candidates must have strong SAS skills having used SAS 9.1.3 Foundation within a Credit Risk environment for some time in the commercial arena. Ideally you would also have been doing some SAS scorecard development. Previous roles you may have been involved in could include working within Credit Risk on any products including Mortgages, Loans, Current Accounts, Credit Cards, Overdrafts, or within a Collections or SAS Modelling role.
It will be of benefit to have experience using:
SAS Text Mining software (Text Miner),

SAS Extract Transform Load software,
SAS GUI tools (Data Integration and Enterprise Guide 4),

Role
Within the Credit Risk Modeller role you will be responsible for designing new risk models as well as improving existing models used for assessing credit risk. You will be performing statistical PD and LGD modelling operations to investigate ways of predicting risk, as well as interpreting results and recommending action to the business.
The Person
The ideal person for this role will be driven and also keen to work in a team that offers more of a consultancy service to the company. You will have experience of risk modelling in SAS, will have good analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. It is important you are a graduate in a numerate discipline with a clear ability in data modelling and risk. It is also important that you are motivated and keen to progress within the organisation. A blue chip client requires a SAS Developer to come on board in their established and expanding BI practice. Work will initially involve development on a high-profile Finance related project.
You must be able to demonstrate comercial experience across the entire SAS Solution, preferably with some experience of Unix. Knowledge of other BI packages such as Cognos & Business Objects, ETL tools and data warehousing methodologies would be an advantage.

THE PERSON:
The successful candidate will have commercial experience with SAS and / or SQL analysis. You will have experience of analysing mid - large sized data sets, preferably in a marketing / insight environment. Additional skills used in the department that you will be exposed to include Teradata, relational databases etc. The team also utilise a broad range of statistical modelling techniques, so any knowledge of regression, CHAID, Clustering or Segmentations would be useful, however training will be given. You will have an analytical approach to work and are likely to have an academic background in Statistics, Maths, Economics or similar.
