Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Car and package
The company:
Major retail bank in the West Yorkshire area is seeking to hire a Senior manager to manage their forecasting and impairment calculations. You will be a key figure in the business and manage the relationships with numerous business areas.
The role:
You will be responsible for managing both the impairment provisioning and forecasting as well as Basel II RWA. This will involve maintaining relationships with finance, systems, IT and Decision science to ensure that the infrastructure and models remain to the level they are intended.
You will own the production of the impairment P&L charge and impaired loans forecasting, and support capital forecasting, as part of the quarterly planning rounds, associated stress tests and any ad-hoc forecasting requests, as well as ensuring that work remains Sarbanes Oxley compliant.
You will manage a team from analyst to manager level, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and training to perform to the desired level.
The person:
To apply for this role it is important you have the following:
Highly numerate with a degree in a mathematical/statistical/engineering discipline
Solid experience of managing teams in a related field (e.g. credit risk management, model development).
Detailed knowledge of forecasting; both the statistical / technical aspects and the wider P&L / business implications.
Excellent knowledge of both IFRS impairment provisions and Basel II RWA, including modelling, reporting and regulatory requirements.
Comprehensive understanding of consumer lending products and markets, particularly UK mortgages; and the UK, and wider economy; and how changes in both will impact the Retail Secured Lending portfolios.
Experience and knowledge of the entire credit risk life-cycle, from point of acquisition through to recoveries and write-off
