Head of Risk – Consumer finance - £80k + package
Job title: Senior Manager / Head of Credit risk Consumer finance
Location: London (Central)
Salary: Up to £80k plus package
Niche financial services start up within London is looking to hire a Head of risk to launch a product offering within niche markets that are underserved by mainstream lenders, allowing them to offer point of sale credit to customers online, face-to-face and over the phone.
Whilst in its infancy, the business is backed by a large venture capital group that actively manages fast growing ventures in sectors including finance, technology and media.
The head of role will be responsible for developing the product strategy, and will have overall responsibility for the analysis of the portfolio and to administer corrective action and protect the company from losses resulting from poor credit quality and lack of compliance with consumer laws, regulations and company policy.
You will analyse both front end and back end strategies including growth strategies, underwriting decisions, credit quality and collection performance. You will also be charged with the development, maintenance and evaluation of the credit risk modelling activities as well as overseeing the development and implementation of MI.
Partnering with the Senior management team, you will develop a business plan and produce commercial proposals for distribution partners.
To apply for this role you will have significant experience in credit risk within consumer finance or banking. You will have worked across the credit risk lifecycle as well as scoring. You will have experience with SAS and SQL and be willing to use these tools in a role whilst the business grows, and use the insight you have gained to shape business and product strategy.
Degree level educated at 1st or 2:1, you will also have the ability to work under pressure.
