Data Analyst/Modeller - Retail Banking - SAS - £40k
Major financial services organisation based in the city is looking to hire a sharp and technically strong analyst to focus in the area of impairment forecasting.
This hire will continue the excellent growth of this pivotal team within the business.
Your role will be wide and varied, and will focus on the following:
Develop forecasts, engaging colleagues across functions to ensure impacts from all areas are modelled in to these forecasts.
Drive medium and long term forecast whilst engaging senior stakeholders in the business, and ensure functional impacts are incorporated accurately.
Enhance the forecasting process, by producing variance analyses that clearly show variance Vs forecast and leverage this to enhance forecasting process.
Formulate key assumptions and drivers of impairment and present to stakeholders from Analyst to Senior Manager level.
Lead Impairment team effort on an upcoming data migration exercise. Liaise closely with colleagues to ensure that data requirements are captured, tested and ready to feed into impairment calculation.
To apply for this role you will need:
Strong SAS skills - with ability to manipulate large data sets, automate monthly SAS processes and debug SAS code
Strong Excel skills - with ability to work with multiple work sheets, pivots etc
Highly numerate / statistical knowledge - able to work with numbers and make error free calculations
Degree education - In a relevant subject - Mathematics, statistics, physics or similar
The successful candidate can expect to receive from £35k - £40k plus excellent package including pension and bonus.
