Commercial / Business Insights & Pricing Analyst (SQL, Excel, Financial Modelling)

Analyst required by major Global Online business, based in London. With a market leading status, this house hold name organisation has experienced ongoing success and is expanding its analytical function. Within this pivotal role, you will provide actionable analytical insights into key business areas for performance measurement purposes; you will monitor customer behaviour, buying trends, competitor and industry / economic trends & performance, marketing / insight and forecasting with financial data. You will apply your broad analytical knowledge and skills (SQL, Excel etc) to provide business critical insights into the competitive landscape and to create a detailed picture of what your customers are doing, what they want and how to improve ROI and reduce churn. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded statistical analyst / consultant / manager who is keen to deliver insights that directly affect key business drivers around marketing and pricing strategies. You will work with a highly motivated and forward thinking team and be exposed to consistently challenging and interesting projects and statistical analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, SAS to name a few.
The Person:
This role would be well suited to a hands on candidate with outstanding commercial awareness. You will possess the following skills and experience:
- Advanced statistical analysis skills with Excel, SQL, Access etc. Additional SAS and/or SPSS is extremely beneficial, however not essential
- The ability to define, analyse, collate data from key analytical projects and synthesise results into compelling arguments to present to the business. It is essential that you are confident analysing a range of customer orientated & business performance data, be it transactional, campaign, online, behavioural, competitor, pricing, financial etc and apply it to business strategy
- Experience in projects relating to any of the following would be useful: customer insight, acquisitions & retentions, churn, predictive modelling, financial modelling, forecasting, risk, loyalty and/or pricing strategies would all be extremely beneficial
-Strong academic background in a relevant subjects, such as Maths, Statistics, Operational Research, Economics etc (a 2:1 of equivalent at degree standard is preferred)
- Strong communication skills and an organised approach. You must have the ability to look at the 'bigger' picture and define commercially driven analytical pieces of work
- Industry experience in retail, telecoms, financial services / retail banking, online or consultancies would be useful, however not essential
